The Federal Republic of Brazil deposited its Instrument of Ratification of the Agreement on the Conservation of Albatrosses and Petrels with the Government of Australia in Canberra on 3 September 2008.
This action follows the adoption of the text of the Agreement by the Brazilian National Congress through Legislative Decree No. 187 of 15 July 2008, and the subsequent signature of the Instrument of Ratification by the President of Brazil, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, as witnessed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, on 31 July 2008. In accordance with Article XVI (2), the Agreement will enter into force for Brazil on 1 December 2008, when it will become the 12th Party to ACAP.
