The 2nd International Forum on the Sub-Antarctic will be held in Hobart, Tasmania, Australia over 26-27 April 2009 under the auspices of Antarctic Tasmania (a business unit within the Tasmanian Department of Economic Development and Tourism, housed in the same suite of offices as ACAP) with the overall theme of "Environmental Change in the Sub-Antarctic".
The draft programme, registration form and advice on accommodation are now available on the forum’s web site at http://www.sub-antarctic.org/ifsa2009.html.
The meeting will follow on from the first Forum, held in Hobart in July 2006, which resulted in a Proceedings published by and available from the Royal Society of Tasmania.
The sub-Antarctic and southern cool-temperate islands of the Southern Ocean are the core breeding sites for nearly all the species of albatrosses and petrels currently listed by ACAP.
