Photographs of 10 of the World's 22 albatross species (as recognized by ACAP) are eligible to be submitted to an international competition covering the World's 623 most threatened birds: those with a category of Critically Endangered or Endangered.
The photos submitted to the competition will feature in a publication, The World's Rarest Birds, to be published in 2011. The book will aim to be a comprehensive directory of the world's most threatened bird species and will include specially written feature articles on the key bird conservation issues in each of the World's regions (click here).
Information on the photographic competition, including how to submit pictures of threatened albatrosses (and other species of birds) may be found at http://www.theworldsrarestbirds.com/.
